College and University Athletic Trainers’ Committee

Vision
The vision of the College/University Athletic Trainers’ Committee is to recognize and support the certified athletic trainer as the primary advocate for collegiate athletic health and safety issues.

Mission Statement
The mission of the NCATA College and University Athletic Trainers’ Committee is to:
  • Support the overall goals and objectives of the North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association;
  • Serve the athletic trainers of North Carolina who practice in the collegiate setting;
  • Promote and enhance athletic training in the college/university setting in North Carolina;
  • Promote institutional ownership in the integrated health care delivery system in intercollegiate athletics.
Goals
The goals of the NCATA College and University Athletic Trainers’ Committee serve as an action plan in fulfillment of our mission.  This action plan is achieved through short- and long-term goals:

Short Term Goals:

1) Grassroots marketing of our initiatives by committee members contacting all college and university athletic training staffs in the state on an annual basis
2) Creation of a listserve and establishment of enrollment of as many college and university athletic trainers in North Carolina as possible to serve as a means of communication and sharing of resources
3) Development of the committee webpage on the Association’s website
4) Establish and promote annual NCATA summer symposium targeting the college and university athletic trainer

Long Term Goals:
1) Enhance the position and reputation of college/university
athletic trainers in the state
2) Promote the profession of athletic training throughout North Carolina
3) Provide a voice for college/university athletic trainers at the state and national level.
