The North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association is proud to announce the 2026 Hall of Fame inductees, honoring exceptional athletic trainers whose careers have had a lasting impact on the profession, the Association, and the communities they serve. The NCATA Hall of Fame is the Association’s highest honor, recognizing individuals for outstanding professional achievement, leadership, service, and dedication to athletic training in North Carolina. The following individuals will be officially inducted into the NCATA Hall of Fame on March 7th in Wrightsville Beach, NC at our annual symposium.

Jolene Miller Henning, EdD, ATC, LAT

Dr. Jolene Miller Henning is a nationally respected leader in athletic training education whose career has shaped professional standards, accreditation, and educator development at the state and national levels. Currently serving as Department Chair and Program Director of the Master of Science in Athletic Training program at High Point University, she is widely recognized for her collaborative leadership, faculty mentorship, and dedication to student success. Dr. Henning has held numerous influential roles with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education, and the Board of Certification, playing a key role in the transition to the professional master’s degree and the advancement of clinical education. Her extensive scholarly work, editorial service, and long-standing commitment to the NCATA have earned her many of the profession’s highest honors, reflecting a career defined by leadership, service, and lasting impact.

Jennifer Ann-Schultheis O’Donoghue, PhD, LAT, ATC, CSCS

Dr. Jennifer O’Donoghue has made an enduring impact on the athletic training profession through exemplary leadership in collegiate sports medicine, professional service, and advocacy. As Associate Director of Sports Medicine at North Carolina State University, she has consistently prioritized patient-centered care while guiding comprehensive sports medicine operations. Nationally, Dr. O’Donoghue has served in influential leadership roles with the National Athletic Trainers’ Association and the Intercollegiate Council for Sports Medicine, including her current role as Division I Chair, contributing to major initiatives addressing standards of care, mental health, inclusion, and evolving collegiate athletics policy. Known as a servant leader and mentor, her career reflects a deep commitment to advancing athletic training through collaboration, education, and sustained professional service.
